What we do
Dogs come to us from a variety of situations. Most are surrendered by owners who can no longer care for them. Some come from kill shelters, while others may have been strays. Cats and kittens from the Moravia area are trapped and brought to the Home Stretch for medical treatment, spayed/neutered, given vaccinations, and then released or rehomed.
We provide consultation around a variety of issues: behavioral, referral, information about available resources. Please email or call us with questions.
Finding Pets a Home
We carefully evaluate potential adopters to ensure the safe and loving placement of our dogs and cats. This may include a home visit and meeting everyone in the family, as well as a meet and greet with other family pets. We ask that you to complete our adoption application if you are considering adopting from us, whether sooner or later.
Spay & NEuter
All pets adopted from us will be spayed or neutered if age allows. Puppies, kittens or adults that have not been altered will be expected to be as soon as old enough or medically cleared.
